This lesson uses Bloom's taxonomy to build from lower levels of thinking to higher levels of thinking. Students are asked at the beginning of each task to read through the provided articles in order to identify and describe various types of governmental structures (lower level thinking). Students are asked afterward to discuss and debate, in their groups, the pros and cons of each structure. Then, students will work as a group to write a draft of a government branch (such as the legislative branch), based on the discussions and debates (higher levels of thinking).

Therefore, this project requires students to use creative problem solving and critical thinking skills, in addition to comparison, compromise, and teamwork.
